Agenda

KEY TAKEAWAY:

This presentation will provide an overview of the iterative risk assessment process and how it can be fully utilized to implement effective and functional safety solutions for industrial mobile platforms.

SESSION DESCRIPTION:

Mobile platforms (including AGVs, AGCs, AMRs, IMRs, industrial trucks, and industrial vehicles) are essential for today’s factory and logistics automation.  Humans and mobile platforms are working together in the same space at an unprecedented rate, so maintaining worker safety without unnecessary downtime is essential.  Therefore, state-of-the-art approaches and technologies are key enablers to achieve safe productivity.

AGENDA

  • How to ensure safe interactions of humans working with/around mobile platforms?
  • All safety systems require Performance Level (PL) d or Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2.
  • The process of iterative risk assessment – in conjunction with applicable industry consensus standards – can be applied to achieve an appropriate safety solution to the level of risk associated with mobile platforms.
  • Achieving safe productivity with solutions which are cost-effective, compact, accurate and robust.
  • Scalable safety solutions to realize the Goldilocks principle [not too much, not too little – but just right for the application].
  • SICK competence and product portfolio provides a global resource partner for safe mobile platforms.
